Do you or will you have Gluten Free bagels?
The short answer is no. As a parent of a 13yr old son with Celiac Disease, I understand the frustration of having a gluten intolerance. However, we are selling Authentic New York Bagels. Gluten free bagels do not have the same texture or taste as a New York Bagel. Also, for the record.....my son will endure the horrific stomach pain of eating gluten at least once per week, because a New York bagel tastes THAT GOOD.
Do you or will you have asiago bagels?
Sadly not. We do not make our bagels in house. Our baker/distributor in Nashville only offers the bagel flavors served at Bagel King. Nor does our baker offer a gluten free option.
Will you have lox or breakfast sandwiches?
Again, the short answer is no. Our initial dream was to open a bagel shop and serve breakfast sandwiches called Salt Pepper Ketchup. Rent around Downtown Dickson is INSANE. Not only would we pay up to $4k/mo rent for a location on main, but we would need to invest over $200k to do it right (closer to $500k with a in-house bakery). Our current location is VERY SMALL and is just under 500sqft. Think of this location as a PROOF OF CONCEPT. Once we know Dickson approves of Bagel King, we will revisit opening a bigger location and expanding later in 2026/2027.
Online/mobile/call-ahead orders?
No. We believe in face-to-face interactions. We do not want the phone to ring, or a tablet to constantly beep with orders while we are engaging with our customer and frequent fliers of Bagel King. We take pride it getting to know our customer and treating them like family.
